Website Use
Last updated 14 September 2026 · Version 1.1
These are the terms on which you may use this website. They apply to everyone who visits, whether or not you become a member. Membership itself is governed by our Terms & Conditions.
1. Who we are
This site is operated by Chain of Deeds Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 15529163, registered office 35 Ovington Square, London SW3 1LJ. You can reach us at admin@chainofdeeds.com.
2. By using the site you accept these terms
If you do not accept them, please do not use the site. We may change these terms; the version in force is the one published here at the time you use the site.
3. We may change or withdraw the site
We do not guarantee that the site, or any content on it, will always be available or uninterrupted. We may suspend, withdraw or restrict all or part of it for business and operational reasons, and we will try to give reasonable notice where we can.
4. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the site in any way that breaks any applicable law or regulation, or for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, the server on which it is stored, or any server, computer or database connected to it;
- introduce any virus, trojan, worm, logic bomb, keystroke logger or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful;
- attack the site by means of a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of-service attack;
- scrape, harvest, mine or systematically extract data from the site, or use any robot, spider or automated means to do so, without our written permission;
- use the site to send unsolicited commercial communications, or to impersonate any person or organisation, including us;
- submit content that is defamatory, obscene, hateful, harassing, or that infringes anyone's rights;
- circumvent, disable or interfere with any security-related feature, or any feature that restricts use or copying of content.
Committing an offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990 is a criminal matter. We will report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities and cooperate with them, including by disclosing your identity.
5. Content you submit
If you send us anything — a message, a registration of interest, a dua, an image, a document — you confirm that it is yours to send, that it is accurate, and that it does not breach anyone's rights or any law. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use it for the purpose you sent it for. We may remove anything that breaches these terms.
Do not send us confidential information, and do not send us anyone else's personal data without their knowledge.
6. Our intellectual property
We own or are licensed to use all intellectual property rights in this site and in the material published on it, including the Chain of Deeds name and marks, the written content, the design and the code. Those works are protected by copyright and by trade mark laws.
You may print off one copy and download extracts of any page for your own reference. You must not modify the material, use any illustration, photograph or graphic separately from its accompanying text, or use any part of the site for commercial purposes without our licence. Our status as authors must always be acknowledged.
7. Linking to us
You may link to our home page provided you do so in a way that is fair and legal and does not damage our reputation or take advantage of it. You must not suggest any association, approval or endorsement where none exists, and you must not frame the site on any other site.
8. Links from us
Where the site contains links to other sites and resources provided by third parties, those links are provided for information only. We have no control over their contents and accept no responsibility for them or for any loss arising from your use of them.
9. Our liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury arising from our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
We exclude all implied conditions, warranties and other terms to the fullest extent permitted by law. We are not liable to you for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable, or that arises from your use of, or inability to use, this site.
We do not guarantee that the site will be secure or free from bugs or viruses. You are responsible for configuring your own technology and using your own virus protection.
10. Governing law
These terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may bring proceedings in your own courts as well as in the courts of England and Wales.
