The farm.
A 61-hectare farm near Kasur in Punjab, Pakistan's breadbasket. Four solar-powered tube wells water the land without fuel costs, and there are dairy buildings on site. The land grows two staple crops a year: wheat in winter and rice in summer. Bought once and held as waqf through a Pakistani non-profit company: it can never be sold, and the grain goes to the families it serves. Accounts are independently audited every six months.
The water
4 solar-powered tube wells on the farm. The amount of water is still to be measured.
Held as waqf
Held by a Pakistani non-profit (Section 42) company with waqf terms. It can never be sold. What it grows goes to the people it serves.
Who it feeds.
About 4,000 people a year, from wheat and rice. This is our estimate from the size of the farm and will be confirmed before the vote.
